A qualitative and inductive approach was employed to analyze descriptions of clinical practicum records. As a result, the following 5 core categories were extracted: \"establishing a helping relationship, \"establishing a personal philosophy of nursing\", \"clinical nursing  competence\", \"the quality of nursing care and services\", and \"nursing management\".
