The questionnaire was administered to a convenience sample from senior citizen's club members aged 6 and older (n = 6). Of 45 respondents (67.5% correct), 319 respondents without missing values were analyzed separately by gender. The main results were as follows: 1) Approximately 2% of participants experienced at least one fall in the past 12 months; 2) Significant associations with fall experience in the previous 12 months were observed for quality of sleep and fall-related self-efficacy for male, and life function and fall-related self-efficacy for female. These findings suggest the necessity of a multi-strategic and gender-specific intervention targeting physical functions, quality of sleep and fall-related self-efficacy in order to reduce falls in community-dwelling elderly.
