A questionnaire survey was conducted among third-grade nursing students of a junior college immediately before the start of nursing practice. Analysis of their responses revealed certain correlations between 5 subscales of a coping strategy scale and their cognitive evaluation: \"impact evaluation,\" was weakly correlated with \"positively solve problems\" and \"seek help from others;\" \"threat evaluation,\" was weakly correlated with \"positively solve problems\" alone; \"controllability\" was weakly correlated with \"positively solve problems\" and \"escape;\" \"Commitment\" showed no correlation. These results indicated that students recognized nursing practice as important and influential to them, thus trying to \"positively solve problems\" and \"seek help from others.\" It was also suggested that \"escape\" was a temporary behavior for students to refresh themselves in order to better cope with future
